Biography

Cleopatra Bertelsen received a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2022with a specialization in both Creative Arts Therapies and Multiracial Identity, and is a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society. She graduated with her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Drama Therapy from Antioch University in 2015, is certified in all three levels of Reiki, is a licensed massage therapist and has a BFA in theatre from Cornish College of the Arts. She was the 2019 recipient of the Antioch Social Justice and Multicultural Perspectives Fellowship. Cleopatra comes from a multi-racial background and is passionate about working with issues surrounding race, self-identity, intersectionality, and visibility.  Cleopatra has developed an embodied antiracism training for counseling programs, and wrote her dissertation on the experiences race, racism and antiracism of multiracial counseling students.  Cleopatra completed 200 hours of yoga teachers training with Breathe for Change and is a Registered Yoga Teacher, and currently mentors trainees. Cleopatra is also faculty at the Northwest Creative Expresive Arts Institute. Cleopatra is a lifelong learner and currently is enjoying being a beginner at pottery.

Cleopatra believes in a holistic approach towards personal healing, and in her free time practices yoga, spends time in nature, is committed to creative, mental, emotional, somatic, and spiritual growth, continually explores new avenues of expression and healing modalities and dedicates quality time to her close relationships.
